Service Description

Avon LMC has an online DBS processing system so all requests for checks can now be made via their website. This service increases the speed with which organisations can obtain a DBS disclosure for their staff, with an anticipated turnaround in most cases of 5 working days from the date of submission to the DBS via the online portal.

Types of DBS Checks

Enhanced – required for anyone working in regulated activity who is involved in regularly caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults (clinical staff, such as GPs, nurses, and health care assistants), and/or anyone who has access to medical records of children or vulnerable adults (non-clinical staff, such as receptionists or administrators).

Standard – required for who do NOT have any contact with children or vulnerable adults, or any access to the medical records of children or vulnerable adults during the course of their normal working day (for example, cleaning staff).

Volunteer – only suitable for a person engaged in an activity which involves spending time unpaid (except for travel and other approved out of pocket expenses), doing something which aims to benefit some third party other than or in addition to a close relative. This can be standard or enhanced.

How to get a DBS check

You need to visit the Avon LMC website and register with their system to start the DBS check process.
